What We Do

We are committed to assisting families in need of food.  Our donated food includes rice, beans, and canned fish. We prioritize our rice and beans purchases from local farmers. In the long term, this will increase production and create jobs and steady income for local farmers. We estimate that by 2026, our food aid will greatly boost student enrollment and graduation rates, a win-win for everybody.

Our Education Assistance program has two components: The One Backpack Per Child program and the Limited Renovation Program. Under our One Backpack Per Child program, we will be providing backpacks to children of severely poor families from grades 1-12. Each backpack will contain notebooks, pens, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, and rulers. Our Limited Renovation Program will provide fund limited renovation and rehabilitation of rural school buildings with leaky roofs, damaged doors, windows, and paint. We recognize that getting out of poverty will take more than food assistance. Literacy is a critical first step on the road to self-sufficiency.

We will install handpump wells in five towns and villages around N’Zerekore to provide clean water to rural residents.

Our microloan program aims to support small-scale farmers and artisans, with the goal of increasing food production, promoting artistic expression, creating jobs, and providing sustainable income. Rather than charging interest, we offer revolving loans that are based on profit and loss sharing. This program is particularly beneficial for rural women who stand to gain from increased economic opportunities.
